Prof. Dr. Md. Suphi ACAR

Prof. Dr. Suphi Acar, MD was born in Amasya in 1953 and graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Medicine in 1976, which he entered in 1970. In 1981, he started his residency in the Department of Ophthalmology at Ankara GATA Training and Research Hospital and became an ophthalmologist in 1985.

Between 1985 and 1991, he served as an Ophthalmologist at Merzifon Hospital. From 1991 to 1995, he worked as an Assistant Professor, and from 1995 to 1998, as an Associate Professor at Haydarpaşa GATA Training and Research Hospital, Department of Ophthalmology. Between 1998 and 2000, he was a Founding Faculty Member at Yeditepe University, Department of Ophthalmology. He served as a Professor of Ophthalmology at the same university from 2000 to 2001. From 2001 to 2012, he was the Head of Clinic at Haydarpaşa Numune Training and Research Hospital, and also served as the Chief Physician from 2001 to 2004. Since 2016, he has been serving at Batıgöz Medical Center Altunizade – Istanbul.

Prof. Dr. Suphi Acar, MD specializes in Cornea, Cataract and Refractive Surgery, Contact Lenses, and Glaucoma. He is a member of the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons. He is also an active member of the Turkish Ophthalmological Association’s Cornea and Ocular Surface Unit, Cataract and Refractive Surgery Unit, and Glaucoma Unit, and holds a Certificate of Eye Bank Management issued by the Glaucoma Unit.

He currently serves as an Ophthalmology Specialist at Batıgöz Health Group, Altunizade – Istanbul branch.
