Prof. Dr. Md. Ümit İNAN

Prof. Dr. Ümit İnan, MD started working at Batıgöz Balçova Surgical Medical Center in 2022. He completed his primary, secondary, and high school education in İzmir. Prof. Dr. Ümit İnan, MD  graduated from Ege University Faculty of Medicine in 1993 and completed his specialization in ophthalmology at Celal Bayar University Faculty of Medicine in 1999. He began his career as an "Assistant Professor" at Kocatepe University Faculty of Medicine in the same year. Prof. Dr. Ümit İnan, MD obtained the titles of "Associate Professor" in 2004 and "Professor" in 2009.

Between 2017 and 2021, he worked at Özel ParkHayat Hospital, and during 2021-2022 he served at İzmir Özel Can Hospital. He has published over 100 scientific research articles in national and international peer-reviewed journals. Prof. Dr. Ümit İnan is an active member of the Turkish Ophthalmology Association’s Vitreoretinal Surgery and Medical Retina Units and is also a member of various international eye associations such as the "American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO)," "The American Society of Retina Specialists (ASRS)," "The European Society of Vitreoretinal Specialists (EVRS)," "The European Retina, Macula and Vitreous Society (EURETINA)," and "The Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO)."

His special interests include the medical and surgical treatments of retinal diseases, uveitis, and eye trauma. He has conducted clinical studies on diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, and retinal detachment. Prof. Dr. Ümit İnan, MD currently provides eye health services in cataract surgery, intraocular lens applications, laser surgery, and glaucoma at Batıgöz Balçova Surgical Medical Center.

Prof. Dr. Ümit İnan, MD has dedicated his life to being a good clinician, physician-surgeon, scientist, educator, and a good person. He is married and has three children.
