He graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine (English Education) in 1997. He completed his residency in Eye Diseases at Ege University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Eye Diseases. He obtained the title of Assistant Professor in 2006, Associate Professor in 2010, and Professor in 2016.
In 2003, he trained in Cornea and Refractive Surgery at Helsinki University and in 2017, he received training in retinal and vitreoretinal surgery as a visiting doctor at the George Washington University retina department in the USA. His main areas of interest include cataract, retinal diseases (such as diabetes, macular degeneration, retinal vascular diseases), corneal diseases (keratoconus, dry eye, conjunctival surface diseases), and uvea diseases (Behçet's disease). He has over 6000 surgical case experiences in these areas. He has published 36 scientific articles indexed in international scientific indices, receiving over 400 citations. He has over 80 presentations at various congresses. He has contributed as a chapter author and editor for Turkish ophthalmology books. He has actively participated in numerous national and international scientific meetings as a speaker and presenter for both oral and poster presentations, as well as a course trainer and panel speaker.
